Tom Wells: Philanthropic Dedication to People of Haiti

Senior Partner, Tom Wells, who last year accepted in the Board of Directors of National Board of the YMCA d’Haiti, attended a Board meeting this week. The board worked on 2014 plans including new YMCAs this year at Marchand Dessalines and Cap Hatien. Tom has more than passing interest in the latter as he will be leading a 12 person volunteer construction team trip to Cap Hatien, Haiti to start this project on June 15. This will be the 4th Container YMCA that has resulted from the partnership between the Ridgewood YMCA, Wells Mountain Foundation and the YMCA d’Haiti, spearheaded by Tom, after the devastating January, 2010 earthquake in Haiti.

In advance of the construction trip in June, another container (40 ft. by 8 ft. by 8 ft.) is being loaded in Mahwah in March with construction materials, sporting equipment, books and other material for Haiti. The main drop off dates will be Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15.
