About Katie
Katie has developed an extensive land use, zoning, and municipal law background, having worked in all facets of development and with a variety of professional consulting teams on a wide range of projects. Serving as counsel to corporate and private developers, as well as objectors, she has a longstanding and successful practice working closely with client development teams and representing parties before local land use boards. As board attorney to planning and zoning boards throughout Hunterdon, Bergen and Union counties, she has and continues to work to develop and enhance relationships with professionals and board members, while providing high quality guidance and oversight. Katie is knowledgeable in local and state zoning principles and has participated in many aspects of land use development, from the initial project planning stages and throughout the completion of municipal land use board processes.
Katie has also worked extensively on numerous prerogative writs and other general litigation matters throughout the state, participating in all aspects of a case, from initial pleadings to trial briefings. Her practice also includes focus on affordable housing regulation and development, telecommunications, and outdoor advertising regulation.
Before joining the team at Wells, Jaworski & Liebman, Katie was Of Counsel at a prominent New Jersey land use-focused law firm. She also, for the prior 12 years, worked at a mid-sized Bergen County law firm, where she focused on land use and zoning. She continues to represent the Town of Clinton Land Use Board, Borough of Glen Rock Zoning Board of Adjustment, and Town of Westfield Zoning Board of Adjustment.
Katie is a past member of the New Jersey State Bar Land Use Board of Directors and also serves as a Trustee on the Glen Courts Board of Trustees, helping to oversee matters relative to the senior housing development in Glen Rock. She was a longtime volunteer for her local elementary school’s Home School Association and has volunteered with various local organizations and charities throughout her professional career. Katie is also an Associate Editor of the Local Government Law Review, which is published quarterly by the NJ Institute of Local Government Attorneys.
