NJ Justices Won’t Review Damages For Dune-Blocked Views

Partner Ken Porro was recently interviewed and quoted by Law360 on his position regarding the New Jersey Supreme Court’s recent decision which rejected the city of Ocean City, New Jersey’s petition for review of an appeals court decision that the city must compensate two couples whose beachfront views were impeded by sand dunes erected by the municipality.

“I am confident that on remand Hughes and Talotta {land owners} will receive just compensation as required by our constitution for the taking of their property for the public sand dune project,” Kenneth A. Porro, an attorney for the plaintiffs, told Law360 on Tuesday. “Government should not be permitted to land grab private property under the veil of protecting private property,” he added. “It doesn’t make any sense.”
