Noteworthy Spring/Summer 2000

By formal announcement, we have already told everyone receiving this newsletter that our colleague, Jim Delia, was made a partner of the firm on January 1, 2000. Let us note again here, our warm “congratulations” to Jim on this significant milestone on his career.
WJ&L, LLP is now a 5 Rotarian club. Of our nine attorneys (soon to be 10), 5 are members of Rotary Clubs. Associate,Darrell Felsenstein, recently joined the Wayne A.M. Rotary Club. Darrell joins colleagues Stuart Liebman (Paramus Rotary), Jim Jaworski (currently President of Ramsey/Bergen Highlands Rotary), Kimberly Paton (Bergenfield Rotary), and Tom Wells (Bristol, Vermont Rotary).

Partner, Cheryl Morrissey, who keeps busy with both her commercial and matrimonial practices, recently co-taught a course in Family Law for the Institute for Continuing Legal Education, together with Judge Michael Diamond of the Passaic County Superior Court. Cheryl is also serving this year on the Family Part – Early Settlement Panel in Bergen County.

Long time client of our office, David F. Bolger, was recently honored by receiving the Award of Excellence from the West Bergen Mental Health Foundation at a brunch at the Sheraton Crossroads which was happily attended by several tables of friends from our firm. “Congratulations” David!

Our office will also be turning out when Raymond and Betty Wells, both active in numerous civic organizations throughout the County for many years, will be honored by the Hermitage in Ho-Ho-Kus at its Rose Ball scheduled for June 17, 2000. Why not plan to join us at this wonderful function honoring these special people? Among their accomplishments, Ray and Betty produced our Senior Partner, Tom Wells, the oldest of their 6 children.

Long time friend of our firm and special mentor to Partners Stuart Liebman and Jim Delia, who served respectively as his first and seventh law clerks, the Honorable James Murphy recently retired from the bench. Over 270 members of the bench and bar of Bergen County enjoyed a special Retirement Dinner on April 4, organized and emceed by Partner Stuart Liebman. Congratulations and good wishes Judge Murphy.

On the family news front, warm wishes to Joel Liebman (#2 son of Stuart and Arlene Liebman) on his bar mitzvah held on March 11 and to Courtney Wells (oldest daughter of Tom and Carol Wells), who will be graduating with honors from NYU on May 8th.

Last, but not least, heartfelt welcomes to our newest additions, Michael Jason (son of Jim and Michele Jaworski, who arrived in December) and Marissa St. Claire (daughter of Kimberly Paton and Joe Amen who arrived in February).
