Our New Partner
Clients and friends of our firm will be happy to learn that effective April 1, our colleague, Jim Maggio, has become a Partner of our law firm. Jim, after a judicial clerkship, has spent his entire legal career at Wells, Jaworski & Liebman, LLP. He will continue his work in the Corporate, Commercial and Transactional areas, with related interests in real estate and employment issues.
Jim grew up in Clifton, and currently resides in Nutley. He received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University, and obtained his law degree from Seton Hall School of Law. Following law school, Jim served as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Ralph V. Martin, J.S.C. (ret.), where he was first exposed to the inner workings of the judicial system. Jim joined WJ&L, LLP as an Associate in our Litigation Department in September of 1993. As a litigator, Jim honed his legal skills both in and outside of the courtroom. Preparing for and trying cases, provided a challenging experience during this early career. Jim's practice interests later evolved into the Transactional area. In his spare time, Jim enjoys sports, fitness and travel. He is also an avid reader of history (particularly Civil War-related), biographies and fiction, and enjoys creative writing. Jim was also recently named a Director of the Greater Paramus Chamber of Commerce. In reflecting upon his decision to become an attorney, Jim recalls his early idealism, "From the start, I knew that I wanted to be a constructive person, and that through the law, I would have the opportunity to achieve that goal by helping others." A decade later, Jim's perspective has not changed. "If anything, I have only grown in my understanding of the often-used word "service" - each day, really each hour, we are serving our clients, by meeting their needs, by striving to achieve their goals, by working hard at what we do. It defines us both personally and professionally. At WJ&L, LLP, quality services have always been our prime objective, and I am looking forward to the future as a member of this tremendously talented legal team." Jim is a member of the Bergen County Bar Association and is licensed in the States of New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. | |
